Sautéed oyster mushrooms

Like many gourmet mushrooms, while great in many dishes, oysters definitely deserve to be experienced in their full glory. And there is no better way to bring out the flavour of gourmet mushrooms than through a simple sauté. 

Time: 10 minutes


  • oyster mushrooms
  • butter or oil
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic
  • onion
  1. Heat butter or oil to a pan on medium-high heat
  2. Cut the mushrooms into bite sized pieces - mushrooms have the best texture where the gills begin
    Optional: chop onions and dice, crush or thinly slice garlic
  3. Add the mushrooms
    Optional: add the garlic and onion
  4. Season with salt and pepper
  5. Fry until golden brown around the edges
